Recently I've been re-reading "The Mind's I" by Douglas R. Hofstadter and Daniel C. Dennett, which has many interesting extracts about the nature of mind and spirit within the philosophical context of quantum physics, A.I., philosophy and mysticism.
Below I've added some of my sketches from this year which tend to fit these themes.
"Spirit rises, matter falls. Spirit reaches like a flame, a leap of dancer. Out of the void it creates form like a god, is god. Spirit was from the start, though even that beginning may have been an ending of some earlier start.
Spirit tends upward without an end, wanders, spirals, dips, but tends ever upward to greater inwardness, consciousness, spontaneity, to an ever greater freedom. "
- Allen Wheelis, "On Not Knowing How To Live"
Drawings from early July this year, peak solar activity time.
First two drawings were done on July 3rd - the time of highest ranked X class solar flare. That day I reached for the colouring pencils. Maybe there's something to it, or maybe its just a coincidence.
Text around the first drawing:
"The Multidimensional Self introduces us to Soul consciousness, of which the CNS [central nervous system] is the instrument of expression."
- Antero Alli
"All of our perceptions have gone through myriads of neural processes in the brain before they appear to our consciousness. At the point of conscious recognition, the identified image is organised into a three-dimensional hologram which we project outside ourselves and call "reality". "
- Robert Anton Wilson in "Cosmic Trigger 1"
Trying to make sense of how the mind works inspires cool drawings! I guess the way I try to understand abstract concepts is by putting pencil to paper.
Also is that a Japanese and Egyptian styled person?! Pretty cool to merge these two styles I will probably explore this further.
New pendant I've put together using leather tape. There is a little infinity tied into it with waxed thread. The bigger metal pieces are re-purposed computer parts I found.
This can be my symbol for the connections between gravity, time and harmonics.
"As Italian scientist Galileo Galilei (1564–1642) discovered, the clever thing about a pendulum is that it always takes the same amount of time to make one complete swing. In theory, the only thing that affects how fast a pendulum swings is its length and the strength of gravity."

The writing below is an attempt to write up a mystical experience, I don't know exactly what it is, and I would rather not name it to avoid that beast called dogma that closes the mind and blinds the eyes.
Compass set to The Unknown. Voyager dream on, fly, shift and blend.
Systems set to Transcend.
My mind is failing to describe experiences.
Speed is not a factor, but relativity is.
Signal powered up, breamed. Beacons set the reference points, relativity is the method for navigation here.
Beyond time and space.
What do I bring back, is there information here?
It feels like a vast nothing, perhaps its essence itself is pure information.
There is no destination, just the voyage.
Travelling there changes my consciousness, it primes it, creates new states to receive signals from beyond. I am learning a new language usually beyond human comprehension.
Now, lets have a conversation.
Sketch from March 2021.
I'm exploring this new tarot deck I've been gifted by a friend, its very inspiring for artwork as well as mystical work!
I seem to lean more towards the colouring and symbolism of the water and air elements, here I picked out some of my favourites.
This particular deck has an adjusted Major Arcana structure as follows:
The Choice Card
A lone card of free will and deemed to be most important of them all.
Stages Of Life
The Child, Maiden, Youth, Mother, Father, Crone, Sage and Death/Rebirth.
Reason For Being
Knowledge, Wisdom, Healing, Love, Union, Self, Abundance and Destiny.
Journey, Thought, Emotions, Desire, Perception, Intuition, Integrity and Faith.
"Tarot is a mirror, both of life and the individual. Just as it is in life, so it is in the tarot; no single moment or experience is free of influence from internal or external sources."
Tarot Deck "Dreams of Gaia" by Ravynne Phelan
This is recent digital art I've put together trying to make sense of things.
No drugs, just thought-work and meditation for me though! I'm taking the long and sustainable pathway.
""mind" (whatever that is) and its contents are functionally identical.
The usual system of classifying the contents as "me" (part of mind) and not-"me" (outside) can be abolished - not just by meditation, but by certain well-known drugs - and the unity of the field of perception is then recognized.
We are Metaprogrammers."
From Robert Anton Wilson's 'Prometheus Rising' page 231.
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away"
- Philip K. Dick
My favourite April sketch hasn't made much sense to me, until I came across this quote.

Here is a new painting I've been working on lately. Given the style I've cultivated with the digital artwork, here is an attempt at creating something akin to it using acrylic paint.
I am struggling to convey the cosmic glow of the central object... Hmm perhaps it needs even more glitter!

"Getting high is information gathering, staying high is the result of transmuting information into living experience".
This is in context of post survival living, when one is no longer in survival mode, living mode is activated. But to stabilise this way of life, one must have their basic needs fulfilled.
Therefore - "To fly higher, plant your feet firmly in the ground".
Quotes from Antero Alli's book 'Angel Tech - A Modern Shaman's Guide to Reality Selection'
Time does not heal, but time could use a little healing.
A I O N
It doesn't have to be a riddle, it can be a meditation.
Close your eyes and bring to your attention your sense of time. How does it feel? Do you think we have an ancient instinct for how it should flow? Something deeper than our circadian rhythms tuned through daylight exposure. Maybe its more our sense of gravity, a sense of atomic distortions.
Imagine we did, and then you can experiment with aligning that intuitive knowledge with what information you're receiving now. Does it match?
Is it in harmony?
Is it healthy?
Is it beautiful?
"...Who, as he was a happie imitator of nature, was a most gentle expresser of it.
His mind and hand went together:
and what he thought, he uttered with that easinesse,
that wee had scarse received from him a blot in his papers."
- John Heminger & Hanrie Condell on Shakespeare,
Extract from the preface to the First Folio of 1623

"The illimitable, silent, never-resting thing called Time, rolling, rushing on, swift, silent, like an all-embracing ocean-tide, on which we and all the Universe swim like exhalations"
- Thomas Carlyle
[Quoted in Stephen Baxter's book "Manifold - Time"]
Below is a series of digital artwork I've created exploring the visual abstractions of space & time distortions and interactions between universes.
